Expressing love to God.

Fellowship
Encouraging & supporting one another.

Discipleship
Growing to be more like Jesus Christ

Ministry
Meeting people’s needs out of love.

Evangelism
Sharing God’s good news with others.
What We Believe
New Site Church is a Southern Baptist Church
We are members of the Missouri Baptist Convention & the Barry County Southern Baptist Association.
Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe it is without error and that it is our final authority for faith and practice. We believe that the theme of the Bible is the redemption of man from sin by death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe this salvation begins when we turn from sin (repent) and place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone causing us to become born again. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Peter 1:19-21, John 3:1-8)
Autonomy
Simply put we as an individual congregation are governed by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We are not controlled by any denominational hierarchy or agency. While we do cooperate with a network of like-minded Southern Baptist churches, we are free to do ministry and make choices as we believe Jesus Christ leads us. This means we have a congregational form of government with the members discerning God’s will for New Site Church. (Ephesians 1:22-23, Matthew 16:15-19)
Priesthood of every believer
We believe that when Jesus Christ died on the cross His atonement provided for sinful man the access to a Holy God. The priesthood of the believer means that anyone and everyone can approach God through a crucified and resurrected Savior. (1 Timothy 2:4) Furthermore, as believer/priests we can approach God without praying through a human priest, the virgin Mary or departed saints. All believers in Jesus Christ have equal access to God. (1 Peter 2:5-9, 1 John 1:7-9)
Testify
We believe that every Christian should testify of their faith in Jesus Christ to others. As Christians we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and gifted by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit leads us to be a witness for Christ, sharing the good news of the gospel with others who need Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 1:17)
Immersion Baptism/ Lord's Supper
We believe that after one’s conversion to Jesus Christ, that person should be baptized in water by immersion. Baptism is for a believer in Jesus Christ. Baptism is in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the act of baptism is separate from God’s act of salvation. Nevertheless, it is an important step of obedience symbolizing Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. It also symbolizes the believer’s death to sin, burial of the old life, and new life in Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:13-17, Acts 2:41-42, 8:35-39, Romans 6:3-5, Matthew 28:18-20)
Security of the believer
We believe that once a person becomes saved, they are never again a lost soul. We believe that God begins a work of grace at conversion and that He works to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. God convicts us, converts us, completes us. The doctrine of eternal security is not a license to sin, but rather a liberty to serve with the assurance that should we sin, God will not cast us off. (1 Peter 1:5, Philippians 1:6, John 10:27-28)
Tithing
We believe God is the source of all blessings – spiritual and material. We live in a world He created. In recognition and gratitude of His goodness we gratefully and cheerfully give back to God a tithe (10i%) of our income. Tithes and offerings are God’s methods for financing the work of a church’s ministry. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Acts 4:36-37, Philippians 4:10-19, Malachi 3:8-11)
